Disability Rights Oregon is currently monitoring the Oregon Needs Assessment, a recently unveiled formula the State uses to calculate how many hours children and adults with disabilities need to live in their homes. We know in-home care support is critical to keeping people with disabilities out of institutions, and we will not go backwards! To be clear, DRO has never signed off on or endorsed the Oregon Needs Assessment. Our attorneys, in fact, objected to many of its elements and are currently working to cease the state’s misleading and untruthful statements. We’re also gathering data and stories from impacted individuals and families, and creating a toolkit to help you navigate the exceptions process.
